Toastmasters meetings are held in many diverse locations, including restaurants, hotels, office buildings, as well as private homes. We have found that such close quarters do help members improve their speaking skills, however, often fall short of equipping its membership with the ability to diversify their presentations and .deliveries beyond the point of simply speaking.
We are very fortunate at Business and Professional club #1169 to have a multi-faceted meeting facility that can be easly equipped for the use of video, overhead or slide presentations. We also have members who are skilled in the use of these presentational aids, as well as microphone presentations, who are able and willing to give our membership proper direction in the use of these tools.
We are aware that not everyone who enters or joins our meeting has the drive or desire to become a professional speaker. After all, most of our club's membership doesn't want to push themselves to that level, but rather have the knowledge and
practice if anything were to come up. Each member has the choice of what beneifits he / she wishes to take advantage of during their presentation.
You are the leader and controller of your educational development. We, as a club, will not push you into doing anything that we believe you're not ready for, nor hold you back from accomplishing your personal goals. We are here to help you diminish any fears or hesitations about public speaking, increase your awareness of what's proper, what's generally accepted, what’s in bad form and give you the skills to help you make your points to effectively stand up and be noticed. We believe that our membership and meeting location helps us increase our growth and personal potential.
Come visit and find out what what we’re talkin’ about!
